Steal a FNAF How to Steal Animatronics
Turn unlocked pads into upgrades without losing your own collection.
Learning how to steal in Steal a FNAF is the difference between a museum pad and a money printer. Stealing is encouraged by design—just not from locked bases.
Rules of a legal steal window
- Target base must be unlocked.
- Interact with the animatronic (desktop often
E/ click—confirm on controls). - Carry it back to your plot and place it on a free pad.
- Collect once to confirm income, then lock.
If the owner is home, expect slaps, stuns, or body blocks. Bring counter-gear from slaps and gear.
Pre-steal routine
- Lock your own base first.
- Pick a target using steal priority.
- Note escape lanes and whether teammates/alts can help (online coop on shared servers).
- Avoid diving during your own mutation claim if it leaves the pad open (mutations).
During the carry
Move unpredictably. Corner camping owners wait at chokepoints. On mobile, keep the interact button clear of the joystick. If stunned, decide quickly: abort and live, or burn a second tool.
After the steal
Place the unit, collect, lock, and reassess income via income tier. Decide whether the new unit advances rebirth requirements. Log the attempt mentally with the steal planner.
Ethics and etiquette (practical)
Trash talk is optional; leaving a base unlocked while AFK is an invitation. If you hate losing secrets, master locks before hunting S-tiers. Scripts that auto-steal are covered—and discouraged—on the Scripts Hub.
Training drills
- Steal a C-tier from an empty unlocked pad.
- Steal a B-tier while the owner is distracted.
- Attempt an A-tier with gear ready.
- Only then contest secrets shown in base tours.
Return to getting started if the shop economy still confuses you, or study units in the animatronics index.
Solo versus duo steals
Solo: lock, pick B/A targets, carry, lock. Duo: one peels defenders with slaps while the other carries—still lock both pads first. Never trust random public teammates with your parked secrets. If you drop the carry, disengage; retrying into a prepared owner feeds their highlight reel. Review failures against controls (missed interact) versus route errors, then adjust the steal planner score before the next hop.
Film your own failures
A short clip of a dropped carry teaches more than another tip list. Fix controls or routes, then retry only B-tier pads until consistency returns.
Sound and vision tells
Owners sprinting home heard you—abort. AFK shop browsers are B-tier farms. Counter doorway campers with angled paths and gear interrupts.
After three failures
Change servers. Repeating one defended pad teaches their slap timing more than yours.
Steal guide closing note
Reset with the steal planner before a fourth attempt on the same victim.
